The late winter snow that fell last night caught you off guard as you awoke preparing for your morning walk along the back roads of Vermont. The stretch of rolling farmland near the Bed & Breakfast is your destination. In the distance you hear the slow plodding of hooves and a sleigh laboring against the heavy snow. There is the sound of sap buckets clanging and an aromatic hint of pancakes and waffles on a cold but tired breeze.
